20 Weeks - Half way there!
We were on a trip to GA with the students at our church, so I missed last week's update. Here's to being half way!
Maternity clothes: The hair tie trick on my regular jeans is getting pretty tight, so I try to wear maternity pants as much as possible. I have some maternity tops now, and wear them as much as I can. Regular shirts are getting kind of short, so they aren't very flattering. I still wear the ones that will work.
Sleep: I sleep pretty well. Sometimes I wake up hot during the night, but can usually go right back to sleep after a quick bathroom trip.
Medication: No meds!
Gender: Girl! And we are both so excited! I love knowing the gender now. It makes me feel like I can connect with her a little bit more. We have the name Carsen Alivia picked out. At our last appointment, we had the big anatomy scan. They were using a new machine and wanted to play around with it, so we got some 4d pics, too. Her little face looked so sweet!
Food cravings: If you follow me on any social media, you know...SnoCones! Although, I think I would want those all of the time whether I was pregnant or not.
Food aversions: Not really having any aversions. I'm loving food again and am hungry a lot!
Mood: I think I've been in a pretty good mood. We have had so much going on the past couple weeks, my mood has mainly been TIRED! Glad things are slowing down for now.
Movement: Yes! Finally! :) I started being able to recognize it around 19 weeks. And being able to know exactly where she is after the ultrasound helped to know that those little thumps were kicks. Her feet were down at our last appointment and I'm not sure if they still are because she was doing some crazy moving a couple of nights ago and it felt like she rolled over or something. I loved it! I wish she would do it again! :)
Milestones: Feeling her move, being more sure about the gender and starting to wear maternity tops.
Best moments of the week: Starting to feel movement, by far! It's so cool and makes it so much more real.
Things I'm looking forward to: Planning how to decorate the nursery and registering. Registering does seem a little overwhelming to me, but I think it'll be fun to be able to do that with Jake.
Things I'm praying about: Continued health for Carsen and myself!
Verse I've been dwelling on: There are so many unknowns in pregnancy, and I could never make it through without knowing to trust God in all things. I naturally am a planner and try to have everything figured out, so it's important for me to remember to leave it all in His hands. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding." -Proverbs 3:5
